kokeshi

Recently I had an order from my costumer of a journal cover with kokeshi motif. Kokeshi is Japanese traditional wooden toy and has a long history.
Kokeshi has really simple shape but has deep charm I realized. Thinking the kokeshi design and making it with applique and embroidery was really fun.
And this is *hanaha* kokeshi :)

new material

I wanted to try new material for my bag so bought fake leather a while ago. And finally I tried it!
That material is used for the side and handle parts.
The motief is again my favorite cactus but this time, I changed the color to fit the base color mustard x black. That color combination and fake leather gave a kind of new taste to my bag.

I put other pictures of this bag and also some other new items on my website so please have a look!

Cactus

Last week I received a parcel from Japan and was from my sister. In the parcel there was a really lovely dress with cactus and humming bird pattern.

I tried this on and thought "I don't know why but...I love cactus!!! I want more stuff with cactus."
So... I made this.

This is a small bag especially for a camera. Inside is like this.

There is a pocket in the lid. Cute and useful, this is really important I think :)

Hello, this is *hanaha*!

This is the first post for my English blog.
Well... at first, please let me introduce by myself. I am a Japanese bag designer/maker and live in the Netherlands since 2008.
After I move to here, it took a bit effort to build up the new environment but now I make bags again and accept orders. And now, finally trying to make the website in English!
I hope that my bags have a chance to meet many people in the world...
